Mexico has natural beauty and an appealing, talented population. Here is a country with great potential and a need for well-educated and highly ethical leaders. Unfortunately, many of the most talented Mexicans end up living and working in the United States.

Tecnologico De Monterrey

We have selected the Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM) as the school that the Gallagher scholars will attend.  We believe that we have selected the finest university in Mexico.  In our visits, to both the Monterrey and Chihuahua campuses, we were impressed with their state of the art facilities and their student centered curriculums.

President Alberto Bustani and Vice Director Carlos Mijares have welcomed us during our visits.  Rodolfo Bello and Ernesto Rivera are our principal contacts and have presented excellent candidates to us. To find out more about ITESM, please refer to their website at www.sistema.itesm.mx.

Our first five students began their studies in the fall of 2004.  There are now 14 Gallagher Scholars in Mexico.  Eleven are at the Monterrey campus and three at Chihuahua.  We plan on continuing to select five students per year.

Daniel and Mary Tablada have been key to the success of our Mexican program.  Fluent in Spanish and knowledgeable about Mexico, they have selected new scholars and stayed in contact with the existing group.

Hector Tassinari was helpful in working with us on modifications to our program in Monterrey.

Brenda Jimenez and Family

Brenda Jimenez is the talented administrator of our Mexican program.  As such, she has regular contact with our scholars, including organizing periodic gatherings so that they can get to know each other.
